Goethite pseudomorph after Muscovite with Hyaline (Erongo Namibia)
Erongo, Namibia. 35mm x 20mm x 20mm.
This is a most unusual specimen, all the research we have has led us to describe the specimen as a Goethite pseudomorph after Muscovite for the following reasons.
There are muscovites that have the shape that this specimen has, Goethite has been known to replace certain minerals from the region. Close exaamination will show the top of the specimen has a little "hole" leading one to understand that the specimen is hollow.
It's very different and something we have puzzled over for a while before posting it.
