Gypsum (Kalahari Manganese Fields, South Africa)
N'Chwaning 2 Mine, Kalahari manganese Fields, South Africa. 45mm x 25mm x 15mm.
Gypsum from the Kalahari Manganese Fields is now relativly uncommon. Any form of termination to any of the Gypsum is extremely hard to come by. While this specimen is cleaved at the base it still displays a proper termination (On the remaining half) as well as a classic structure to the "Face" of any Gypsum that has been recovered from the mones to date. This is a old specimen from a old collection and not something one will see from these mines too often at all.
